{Snap-Ez} Review & GIVEAWAY!

Like many cloth diapering companies out there, Snap-EZ began with a mother (of 10!!) needing to save some cash and doing so by making her own cloth diapers. The result was impressive enough to spur Ruth on to turn her money-saving hobby into a career. And as they say, the rest is history.

What's fabulous about this company is that they are still hand-made and *not* mass-produced! In fact, all of the Snap-EZ diapers are made by about 10 or so work-at-home moms! Plus, Snap-EZ offers a great one-stop shop for most cloth diapering products you'll need, including training pants, feminine and nursing pads, pail liners, wet bags & wipes!

So we were sent one of their Eco Pocket diapers. "Eco" because they are a one-size fits all, fitting babies from birth to potty training. This certainly seems to be the way the market of cloth diapering is going these days (particularly in this economy!), as it saves money since you're not buying separate diapers as your baby grows. These diapers grow with your child instead. So, if you're in the market for making the most of your diapers dollar-wise, the Eco-Pocket diapers would be the way to go.



That being said, Snap-EZ does still have some of their fitted cloth diapers available and for only $9.99!! Why do I love fitteds? Well, while they cost you more than one-sizes since you're buying more to fit the different sizes your growing baby needs, they fit better and are not nearly as bulky. There are only a limited amount of the Snap-EZ fitted cloth diapers available, as they are being discontinued (and will be donated after April!), so be sure to swing on by today to start your savings while they're still there!

So back to the One Size Eco Pocket diaper we tried. First off, I love that it uses an adjustable snap system. Although not as convenient as Aplix (velcro), snaps are more endurable and don't stick to things in the wash. Secondly, Snap-EZ's use of Lastin (latex-free swimwear elastic) means you get a nice, snug (yet gentle!) fit around the legs to prevent leaks. And as it is a "pocket" diaper, of course, you can stuff it with the desired number of inserts depending on how much absorbancy you need. Of course, the more you stuff, the thicker it gets (which is my only beef with all one-size diapers in general!), but may be absolutely necessary for overnight use, or if you just have a heavy wetter in general.

We were also sent 2 of their soaker inserts - one small and one large. I really love this feature for a one-size diaper, because you just don't want the bulk of a large insert in a one-size diaper when you're using it on its smallest setting (for a newborn or smaller infant).

The result? We didn't experience any leaks at all, and it truly was a snug fit for our newborn. I also loved the exceptionally soft inner layer, and the diaper dried really fast in the dryer.
