{Art} Boxes.

Okay.  So I stumbled upon these delicious little "Art Boxes" from Gifts Define  and am totally thinking I simply must have one of these {not for me, although I'm sure I could use one, too - but for my 3yo}.
These bad boys feature a magnetic whiteboard on one side {perfect for dry erase markers or any magnets, of course} and a removable chalkboard panel on the other side.  Other than being able to write on it with chalk, you can also remove it to reveal a storage space {think: space for the markers, chalk, or any other "treasures" your little one feels they must take with them....they can get quite creative with what they "must" bring, can't they?  I'm just thinking of all the matchbox cars my son likes to tote around...or the Chipotle menu he thinks he must get and carry with us in our car now!}.  Another bonus?  You can personalize it with your child's name.  I think you might want to tempt the grandparents with this one, or at least add it to your birthday or Christmas list of gifts-to-get-the kiddos!

{Mommyhood-ism #1}

A rather insightful lady recently told me that she just couldn't believe how much WIPING comes with motherhood.  As I sat there pondering her statement, I thought, "Oooohhh....how true!"  I mean, if you really stop to tally up how much wiping we moms do in a day, it's quite overwhelming!  From the dirty bums & messy spit-ups, sticky faces & snotty noses, sweaty foreheads and salty tears, wet hands and chlorinated bodies, total blowouts on the couch and greasy finger smudges on the glass doors, pee-spattered potty seats & mud-spattered backs of car seats, it's almost ridiculous!  Isn't it?  And just think.  These happen multiple times a day....every day!  So, I think if someone asks you what they can expect {or what's most surprising!} from motherhood, it's how much wiping you do!  Professional wipers, right?  {We should all have degrees in this!}  Ahhhh....but I wouldn't trade it for anything else in the world. :)

{Rag & Bone Bindery} Review & GIVEAWAY! *CLOSED*

Rag & Bone Bindery offers you a plethora of fabulously couture photo albums to capture all the great moments in your life - from your wedding day to your baby's birth and everything in between, before & after! From their {new!} smaller frame albums to their 4x6 photo binders large paper page albums, they've got you covered size-wise, too!

What sets them apart from other in particular is first and foremost that the albums are handcrafted {and NOT made in China!}, and furthermore that you can customize your album's cover. And these aren't just any covers; these are designer prints and are sure to make others "ooooh" and "aahhh" when they see them! Being in the field of fabrics myself, I can tell you that they offer plenty of top designer {fabric} covers that are both trendy, modern and high-quality. What's more, they also offer free gift wrap, free gift cards and $5 shipping.

I especially adore their "baby's first book" album and "baby shower" album, as well! In fact, their "baby's first book" {as pictured at right} has been recently featured in InStyle, American Baby and Child magazines! At $68 a pop, this book isn't a cheap find, but it is one you'll love, I guarantee it.

So we were recently sent Rag & Bone Bindery's new "frame album" to review. We had it made in their uber trendy "dizzy birds" cover option {as pictured at left - except this smaller version album we received doesn't have the ultra couture hand-sewn ribbon binding on the spine as in the photograph here}. And, oooooooooooh, how cute it is! Love, love, LOVE this print, which will go perfectly in our newborn's bird-themed room! The album comes wrapped in tightly-bound cellophane to keep it clean, and inside are 10 photo frame pages. These pages hold twenty 4x6 photos, and the pages are acid-free to help preserve your precious cargo.

Using the frame album is as easy as pie, too. You simply slide your picture into the "slip in frame page," and you're done. The picture is held in place, but not set in stone, as you can easily trade them in and out for updated photos. And all looks great, as each picture has its own page and is framed with their cream-colored borders.

BUY IT!

{Drowning Prevention} Awareness.

I originally came up with the business name, "Adam's Blankie" because my son, Adam, absolutely needed his "blankie" to be able to relax and go to sleep each night.

It turns out, the name I had selected then holds much more meaning today than we ever imagined, and its aim does not end with his love of blankies. In 2008, {exactly 2 years ago today}, we nearly lost our son in a drowning incident. It was by God's grace and "healing blanket" that enveloped our son, that he was saved!

That day started out just as normal as any other...I was heading to work {at this time, I worked 3 days a week} and taking my son to my Mom's house for the workday.  But what would entail was truly my worst nightmare come true....

{as posted on our blog, "Adam's Miracle}...

"For the thousands of people around the world that prayed for our son Adam during this tragic, yet wonderful journey, there are not enough words to express our sincere thanks for what you have done. We ABSOLUTELY felt covered by prayer during the most difficult times, and God was able to provide peace and strength beyond anything we could muster ourselves. Many people may feel that the God of the Bible worked so many miracles "back in those days", but I can assure you that He works those same miracles today...we just have to open our eyes (and our hearts) to see them. Here is our story of Adam's miracle.

On Tuesday, May 13th at about 12:25 in the afternoon, Kari was at work. Her boss, Chad, asked her if she was going to lunch. Kari usually leaves the office at 12:30, but since Chad prompted her, she decided to leave a few minutes early that day. Little did we know that God was at work even then. Kari went to her mom's house to see Adam, who always gets dropped off there on the days that she works. Her mom's house is only about three to four minutes from Kari's office.

At 12:32, Kari opened the front door of her mom's house and walked directly towards the living room, hoping to find Adam playing with his toys. She immediately noticed that the sliding patio door leading into the back yard was open. She rushed out through the door and was confronted with the horrific sight of our little son floating face-down in the pool. Our worst fears had come true and, ironically, Kari and I discussed the potential for this to happen the night before. With the weather warming up, we knew that spending time in the pool would become a weekly activity...and a source of great temptation for Adam when left to his own devices.

At 12:32 and 44 seconds, Kari heroically sprang into action. The time is forever stamped on the watch that she was wearing as she dove into the pool and fetched Adam from the water. He was not breathing and was a pale blue color. Kari immediately began screaming for her mother and started giving Adam CPR. Her mother called 911 while Kari continued to work on little Adam. She was able to get one deep gasp out of Adam after about a minute. The paramedics arrived in the blink of an eye...we think that they may have been at the McDonald's directly behind the house. They whisked Adam away and reported to us that he vomited water a couple times on the way to the ER.

I received the horrible news via a phone call from Kari while I was at work. All she said was, "Adam fell in the pool! Hurry!" I truly believed at that moment that my son was dead. I looked at his Halloween picture that was sitting on my desk and completely crumbled. I didn't know that he had taken a breath, and I didn't know that my wife had mustered the strength of a true hero and did what it took to give Adam a second chance at life.

I hardly recognized Kari when I arrived at the ER. She was trembling and so shaken that I couldn't believe that this person standing in front of me was the same person that I kissed goodnight the day before. She turned to me and said, "Tell me he's going to be okay." Honestly, I couldn't promise a thing. The doctors told me that Adam began taking a turn for the worse upon arriving at the hospital. His lungs were full of water and his breathing was not stable. They were forced to place him on life support in order to control his body for the time being. Adam was quickly air-lifted to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at a different hospital. A Captain from the fire department drove us to the hospital since there was not enough room in the helicopter. On the ride over, Kari continuously prayed out loud for Adam to be okay. She saw that the firefighter was wearing a bracelet that said, "Faith" and I noticed a small laminated card on the floor of the truck that said, "The Family Prayer." I read the prayer to myself and began to realize that God had a hold of this moment.

I cannot explain how horrible it is to watch your tiny little son swarmed by doctors and nurses and placed on countless machines...with tubes coming out of his mouth and nose, IV lines in his arms and throat and the nerve-racking beeping of all of the monitors and alarms. There is no way to describe it, so I won't even try.

Once Adam was hooked up to all of the machines, ventilators and such, we began to see the storm of support that was brewing in our midst. So many people offered their prayers...from family and friends to folks we've never met. People from all over the world were lifting up Adam in prayer, and I can tell you that we felt it. Within the first few hours of this incident, I was able to look Kari's mom in the eye at tell her that we forgave her. I will never forget the power of that moment, and I can guarantee you that I was not strong enough to do that on my own. To overlook the anger and frustration that we had and provide her mom with that moment of peace was absolutely indescribable. As I sat there with her, not knowing what was ahead, I told her that Adam would fight through this. I suddenly felt a great deal of peace at that moment. I went back into Adam's room and told Kari that everything was going to be okay...and I believed it because I knew God was in control.

As the night wore on, Kari and I saw Adam fight his way out of the sedation multiple times. The nurses were baffled and continued to increase the dosage of his sedatives. He was supposed to be on the ventilator for at least 24 hours, but at 3:00 in the morning on Wednesday, May 14th, Adam put up a terrific fight and beat all of the sedatives that the nurses could pump into his body. They called the doctor in and she ordered them to remove Adam from life support. After only 14 hours on life support, our little son fought his way off of the machines and took his own breaths. His heart and lungs worked as if nothing had happened. We knew that there was still water in his lungs, but he didn't care. These first few breaths were a testimony to God's strength (which He unleashed in Adam). Kari was finally able to hold and comfort Adam, and God gave him peaceful rest for the next few hours.

Within five hours of going off life support, and while still in Kari's arms, Adam opened his eyes and showed us that God could perform more than miracles of physical healing. Adam immediately pointed to a water bottle sitting on the bed and brought it to his lips when we placed it in his hands. Kari and I recognized this as a behavior that we had seen before, and we were so happy to see a glimpse of our son coming back to us. Over the next few hours, Adam began to make noises, recognize faces and suck on his favorite pacifier. We were blown away at his speedy progress and recognized God's mercy in the way that Adam looked at Kari's mom and said, "Nana" when he first saw her. He certainly understood forgiveness. We knew that we were a long way from a full recovery, but we were so happy to have just 10% of our son back.

After weening his body off of the medications, we were able to talk one of the nurses into unhooking him from his monitors. We knew that the true test of Adam's neural abilities would only come when he tried to walk. We placed Adam on the floor and he immediately took off! He walked out of the room and into the main hallway where the nurse's station was located. Upon seeing him, the nurses broke out in applause and cheered him on. I remember telling people that if he walked, I would be totally overwhelmed. I didn't think that I had any tears left, but God had saved a few for that moment.

Adam walked right out of the ICU doors and down the main hall of the hospital. It was like a scene out of a movie, especially when the doctor chased us down in the hallway and said, "Get him ready because he's going home." We hadn't even received word on the X-rays that they took of his lungs that morning! I guess none of that matters when God shows up in a way that no one can ignore.

There were so many miracles along the way. This story doesn't do them justice and there's not enough room to tell the entire tale. We know that Adam has touched so many people around the world, and we are committed to bringing his story to people that need hope and faith. While this blog can't accurately communicate the power of God, I can assure you that His power is REAL and available for anyone who believes in Him.

We did not believe that we were strong enough to handle this incident, but a good friend of ours told us that God never gives you more than He knows you can handle. We recognize that He gave us so much when He gave us our son back, but we were very aware that if His answer was no, we would have to seek His purpose in that as well. We have been given much...and we know that He expects much from us. We truly hope that Adam's story will help others to see just the surface of how God works through every situation...even your worst nightmare.

Words cannot express our gratitude to those who stood by us throughout this."

Reading that still brings tears to my eyes.  God is sooo good!

That being said, it was evident in so many ways that God's hand was working through this incident all the way:
*Adam wearing his one and only shirt with a helicopter on it {as he would later be taken via helicopter to the hospital}...it was as if this day was meant to be - the day that would ignite the beginning of Adam's testimony to bring God glory later!
*The fact that my boss prompted me to leave work 5 minutes early....  With drownings, mere seconds count in preventing brain damage and death!
*My deliverance of CPR {of which I had never been certified!} working to revive my son, despite the fact that my husband had never seen CPR actually work to resuscitate someone in his 5 years experience as a police officer!
*My mom actually being able to find the phone to call 911 so quickly in the first place {searching for a phone over there is sometimes like finding a needle in a haystack!}.
*Me seeing the breast cancer awareness bracelet on the man who drove us from the ER to the hospital {while our son was being taken by helicopter} the first thing I noticed was the word "faith" on it - knowing then, that God would provide if I just had faith in Him!
*My son seeing my Mom for the first time since his accident and reaching out to her, calling her "Nana," as if saying, "I forgive you."  This was one of the first signs our son gave us when he first began showing us that Adam was "back."

So.  Just what can you do to prevent this from happening to your own children?

(And, no, this is not my son...).

One organization that helps answer this question is the Drowning Prevention Coalition of Arizona (DPCA) (to which my company, Adam's Blankie, very proudly and happily donates 5% of all its profits).  Their website provides an excellent resource of any statistics you may be curious about...regarding everything from who's at risk (did you know boys are about twice as likely to suffer a drowning experience than girls?) to times of days drownings more frequently occur to how the outcomes pan out for such drowning victims.  The DPCA site also provides a plethora of excellent information on how to prevent drowning, along with resources for where to sign up for the Infant Survival Class (ISR) or swimming lessons, for example.

Back to my original question regarding what you can do to keep you children safe!  According to DPCA, the "ABCs" are what you should be doing to help instill water safety, thereby, helping to prevent child drownings:

A=Adult supervision.

This is a no-brainer, of course, but this is, afterall, how drownings occur, so we shouldn't overlook it.  We must always be watching our kids around water, but especially keep in mind incidences when you might be particulary distracted....  For instance, if you're at a big gathering, make sure someone is "assigned" to be watching the kids (For example, if you and your husband are there; don't let each parent assume the other is watching the kids.  Make sure it's been discussed beforehand).

To go along with that, please know children can drown in just inches of water!  So make sure supervision is CONSTANT around all bodies of water - from fountains and buckets of water to lakes, pools and likewise!

B=Barriers.

Don't only rely on adult supervision.  Make sure there are gates around pools, and that they properly latch shut.  Make sure all doors leading to the pool/body of water are locked and inaccessible to your children.  Furthermore, make sure any chairs or other things a child could climb on are removed away from the body of water.

C=Classes.

Make sure your child gets swimming lessons, and possibly even look into the Infant Survival Resource (ISR) class.  Also, make a point to get yourself and your husband CPR-certified.  It just might make a difference in the life of your child....

And some quick facts about drowning:
*It's known as the "silent death," as there is usually no cry for help and very little sounds from the splash.
*Most drownings occur between noon and dinnertime.
*Most children victims of drownings are wearing their street clothes when the incident occurs.
*Most drownings occur in the family pool.
*Drowning is the leading cause of death for children aged 1-4 in Arizona.

How Else You Can Help -- TODAY!!

As I mentioned before, Adam's Blankie gladly donates 5% of all its profits to the DPCA!  I have also set up an annual "charity driver event" to raise $1000 by May 15th {the day my son was released from the hospital from his drowning accident} of every year - STRICTLY in donations!  If you want to help, please click here to donate {OR click the "Chip In" logo in the right-hand column of this blog to help "chip in!"}.  Each person who donates will be entered into a drawing to win a free couture Sushi Bib & Burp Set, courtesy of Adam's Blankie

Furthermore, from May 13th - May 15th (the anniversary of my son's accident & recovery!), Adam's Blankie will be donating 10% (versus the normal 5%) of its sale profits to the DPCA!  So if you would rather help out by purchasing some adorable baby couture, please stop by Adam's Blankie!

{Little Twig} Review & GIVEAWAY! *CLOSED*

Little Twig is a company that makes safe bubble, body & suncare products {among others} for your children. They use organic and botanical ingredients for them, such as lemon oil, aloe leaf juice and shea butter. What's this all mean for you? That you can feel good about your baby using their products.

Additionally, each month Little Twig chooses a reputable charity to whom to give donations. The organizations benefit the environment, children & family issues. Along with donating to such deserving charities, Little Twig sponsors a recycling program to benefit you, the buyer. As the consumer, just return 4 full-size empty containers back to Little Twig, and in return they'll give you 30% off your next online order!

We were recently able to test out Little Twig's mineral sunscreen (MSRP $20.99). Now this isn't just any sunscreen. Beyond being spf 30+, it offers a whole multitude of features you gotta know about:

*broad spectrum protection
*non chemical
*moisturizing
*water resistant
*organic ingredients
*mineral oil-free
*paraben & paba-free
*soy, wheat & nut-free
*dermatologist reviewed
*non-irritating

*hypoallergenic
And of great importance is that it is easy to apply and non-greasy, and most important? This stuff works! I also love, love, love that it's actually loaded with antioxidants! Now, tell me your sunscreen at home can do all these things for you!

We also were sent some sample sizes of some of their baby washes (MSRP $9.99) and bodymilk (MSRP $11.49) products. The baby wash comes in 3 scents - happy tangerine, calming lavender or unscented, and their bodymilk comes in the unscented or calming lavender. I love that they, too, are made from organic ingredients, ideal for baby's sensitive skin, paraben-free, phthalate-free & hypoallergenic. The scents are fairly mild {unless you're just not a lavender person, in which case you wouldn't want to purchase that scent anyway!}, and the wash & bodymilk provide great moisture for baby's skin.

I have to say that I had never tried out Little Twig's products before this, and hadn't really heard about them for that matter either. But I am happy to report that I am glad to have discovered them and will be purchasing more of their products (particularly the sunscreen!) in the future.

{Snap-Ez} Review & GIVEAWAY!

Like many cloth diapering companies out there, Snap-EZ began with a mother (of 10!!) needing to save some cash and doing so by making her own cloth diapers. The result was impressive enough to spur Ruth on to turn her money-saving hobby into a career. And as they say, the rest is history.

What's fabulous about this company is that they are still hand-made and *not* mass-produced! In fact, all of the Snap-EZ diapers are made by about 10 or so work-at-home moms! You can check here to read and see more about it! Plus, Snap-EZ offers a great one-stop shop for most cloth diapering products you'll need, including training pants, feminine and nursing pads, pail liners, wet bags & wipes!

So we were sent one of their Eco Pocket diapers. "Eco" because they are a one-size fits all, fitting babies from birth to potty training. This certainly seems to be the way the market of cloth diapering is going these days (particularly in this economy!), as it saves money since you're not buying separate diapers as your baby grows. These diapers grow with your child instead. So, if you're in the market for making the most of your diapers dollar-wise, the Eco-Pocket diapers would be the way to go.

That being said, Snap-EZ does still have some of their fitted cloth diapers available and for only $9.99!! Why do I love fitteds? Well, while they cost you more than one-sizes since you're buying more to fit the different sizes your growing baby needs, they fit better and are not nearly as bulky. There are only a limited amount of the Snap-EZ fitted cloth diapers available, as they are being discontinued (and will be donated after April!), so be sure to swing on by today to start your savings while they're still there!

So back to the One Size Eco Pocket diaper we tried. First off, I love that it uses an adjustable snap system. Although not as convenient as Aplix (velcro), snaps are more endurable and don't stick to things in the wash. Secondly, Snap-EZ's use of Lastin (latex-free swimwear elastic) means you get a nice, snug (yet gentle!) fit around the legs to prevent leaks. And as it is a "pocket" diaper, of course, you can stuff it with the desired number of inserts depending on how much absorbancy you need. Of course, the more you stuff, the thicker it gets (which is my only beef with all one-size diapers in general!), but may be absolutely necessary for overnight use, or if you just have a heavy wetter in general.

We were also sent 2 of their soaker inserts - one small and one large. I really love this feature for a one-size diaper, because you just don't want the bulk of a large insert in a one-size diaper when you're using it on its smallest setting (for a newborn or smaller infant).

The result? We didn't experience any leaks at all, and it truly was a snug fit for our newborn. I also loved the exceptionally soft inner layer, and the diaper dried really fast in the dryer.

BUY IT! Visit Snap-EZ today to purchase your own Eco Pocket Diaper (or their fitted pockets while they last!)

WIN IT! Snap-EZ has graciously offered one lucky Haute Tot & Baby Couture reader a $20 gift certificate to purchase any product/s of choice from their online store!

I know I've mentioned Boon products before, as I find them to be clever, modern and, well, fun! But if you're still unfamiliar with Boon Inc., I'd like to take a minute to introduce you to them. Boon Inc. is a company that manufactures toys, bath goods, organizational pieces, potty training seats and more! And they do so in a fun style - as their own slogan declares, they offer "innovations for modern parents" (TM).

All their products are BpA-free, pthalate-free and PVC-free, so you can be assured their products are safe for your children to use. Plus, 10% of all their profits are donated to children's charities. It's always nice knowing that not only are you getting a fab product, but that by doing so, you'll helping out others, too!

And just where did the name come from? Glad you asked! A "boon" is defined as "a benefit bestowed, especially one bestowed in response to a request.” Brilliantly clever and all too spot-on. I mean, that is, afterall, what every parent is looking for when it comes to finding products for their children!

So recently we had the chance to test out a couple of Boon's line of products. We were sent the flo and their scrubbles. Of course, from those names, you probably have no idea what products we're referring to...such cute names...just part of the Boon creativity, I guess.

The flo (MSRP $14.99) is a device you use in your bathtub. You put it over your faucet, and it not only protects your kids' noggins from bumping into the hard faucet fixture, but it also creates a gentle waterfall and can dispense bubble bath for extra fun! My son now loves to rinse the shampoo out of his hair by placing his head under the waterfall - less work for me, and more fun for him! And being in his do-it-all-myself mode that he's currently in, he also has thoroughly enjoyed putting bubble bath into the bubble bath dispenser and pushing the button to release it into the water. All for fun bath-time goodness!

My only issue with it was that I had to toggle it around a bit on our faucet to get the water to flow out smoothly. But once in the right place, it worked great! It does have a multitude of different settings to make sure it fits each faucet just right.

Next we checked out their scrubble set (MSRP $9.99 for set of 3), their "interchangeable bath toy scrub set." These are not only water squirters but also scrubbers. So kids can practice scrubbing themselves, scrubbing the tub, or whatever it is they want to scrub! Like other bath squirters, you just squeeze and release under water to fill up. However, we found that you hardly got any water in them that way and that it was easier to unscrew the tops to fill (fully) with water. This makes for some good fine motor skill practice! So not only can you unscrew the tops to fill with water (or to clean the product), but you can also interchange the tops with one another...just a clever little way to have even more fun in the tub.

So all in all, we're having a lot of fun with these festive little Boon products! I love that they can be used from ages 0 and up {heck, even I enjoy using them!} and that they're both multi-functional. We all like more bang for the buck, right? And speaking of bucks, they're both very affordable at just $14.99 for the flo and $9.99 for the scrubble set.

BUY IT! Visit Boon Inc. to purchase your own scrubble set and flo or any other number of fabulous children's products! Be sure to check out their Frog Pod {the product that started it all} for easy bath toy storage or their simply fabulous pedestal high chairs!

{Sweet Lily Boutique} Review & GIVEAWAY!

I love a good accessory, don't you?  And especially those for little girls.  I mean, as adult women, we can't really get away with all the cutesy clothing and accessories little girls and babies can get away with.  Well..technically, we could wear those things, but people would probably laugh at us matching our outfits a bit too much or wearing an insanely large flower on our head, right?  That being said, you KNOW you love those "insanely large" flowers on infants' heads!  There's just something about them...although I'm not sure what it is.

Sweet Lily Boutique caters right to you, if you agree with her {and me!} that accessories totally make an outfit...and again, especially for little girls.  What I especially adore is that she isn't just buying pre-fabricated flowers & just gluing them onto pre-fabricated headbands like a lot of shops out there.  Oh no.  At Sweet Lily Boutique, Sarah actually hand-cuts, hand-singes and hand-sews all her petals.  And not only are you getting a unique, hand-made product, but she also welcomes custom orders.  So, if you have a special event {school pictures, wedding, birthday, etcetera} coming up, she can make an item that will go with the outfit perfectly.  Now, come on...how many stores do you know that will do that for you?

So we recently received one of Sweet Lily Boutique's absolutely adorable crocheted headbands with one of their flowers made from organza, satin & chiffon.  That's right ~ 3 different fabrics for lots of texture, volume & interest!  In the center of the flower {which is removable, might I add...meaning it can be used alone, or clipped onto any other items...headbands, shoes, etcetera ~ get creative!} are hand-sewn white seed beads for a little extra "umph."

The headband is absolutely adorable, but what really makes it special and unique are the hand-made flowers on it.  And you can't find those just anywhere, might I add.  Truly unique.  I just love accessorizing our baby girl in this...pictures are always cuter with a beautiful hair accessory, aren't they?  And just as important, I find the quality of these to be great.  The beads are tightly sewn on, and there are oodles of layers of fabric used to make the petals.

I also really love their  bobby pins...easy to put in the hair, and they camouflage easily...a simple & sophisticated yet beautiful look.  Gotta get me some of those next....

BUY IT!  To score your own hand-made hair couture, visit Sweet Lily Boutique today!

{"Autism Speaks"}.

Autism is a topic we, as parents, have most likely all become aware of in recent years, as its precedence in our children has been growing every year.  In fact, today, it is estimated that every 1 in 110 children is diagnosed with Autism.  And, that number is increased for boys, whom it is believed are diagnosed with autism at the rate of 1 in every 70.

Autism is generally described as "a group of complex developmental brain disorders known as Pervasive Developmental Disorders (PDD)" (www.autismspeaks.org). The severity and specifics to each person's autism varies widely, and so the group of the varying disorders are often referred to as "Autism Spectrum Disorders."

There are no medical tests to see if someone has autism, either; diagnosis is done by observation and some educational & psychological testing.  For things to look for, visit autismspeaks.org.

A lovely lady I've just recently been in touch with has a son, Micah, with Autism.  She wrote a lovely blog on one of "Adam's Blankie's" special blankies for Micah!  It touched my heart that one of my products is doing so much for one special little boy!  Be sure to check our her blog, "Reaping What I Sow" here!
