So just one more day until Halloween...are you ready?

If you're like me, and always looking for some last minute ideas, then I have a "treat" for you today. Perhaps you're hosting a party Halloween Eve or Halloween night and want some good decorating or treat ideas? I've found some good ones...for both adults and kids ~ we all are kids on Halloween, afterall, aren't we?

treat tree - what an adorable way to decorate and display your treats for your party! just find a branch and spray paint it black, then stick in a pot with rocks (black, white, whatever...) or even candy corn to hold it in place. then purchase or sew up some easy square bags, fill with your treats, and tie close with ribbon to hang from tree.

cute and easy pretzel swirl sticks - just coat in melted chocolate and roll in halloween colored sprinkles (would also be great treats to give out to trick-or-treaters - just wrap in cellophane and tie with twisty or ribbon!)

halloween lollipops - just buy some ordinary lollipops, cut some orange and white fabric into squares (pinking shears will give you that nice scalloped edge as shown), tie with some coordinating ribbon, and add a face with a sharpie. kids will love these!

Take Care of You.

This morning I was at a church Mom's function and was reminded just how important our own health is...we always make sure to schedule regular check-ups with the pediatrician for our little ones, but when's the last time you saw your own doctor? As the speaker said, part of being a good mom and taking care of your kids is taking care of yourself. How true.

So with October being breast cancer awareness month, I thought I'd share some products that help express that idea to make sure to take care of you, too!

tshirt, $23.99, from www.shop.advanceweb.com

Hello Halloween.

Can you believe it's already this week? Wow. So I thought I'd bring to you some fabulous little Halloween "treats."

I love the idea of decorating for every season (any excuse I can get!), but I must say that I'm not a big fan of the ghoulish stuff for Halloween. So I found this simple and beautiful way to display a little "boo" in your holiday just right. Simple, yet classy and festive ~ not to mention you can use the apothecary jars afterwards for displaying soaps, foods, flowers and beyond.... What do you think?

I also love this doorway setting and absolutely think it's so fabulous to combine carving, stacking and painting in one...how creative, beautiful and welcoming all at once! Also love the black branches above the doorway....

And who can resist decorations that are edible? I really love the concept of these sugary, sparkling treats because while they look like the traditional candy corns, they're obviously not and instead taste much better in my opinion since I am not a fan of candy corn. Are you?

Potty Training...Still.

So you probably remember that we had started the process of potty training at our house a while back. I actually hadn't anticipated starting when we did, but our little guy was showing an interest, so alas, we heeded. Mind you, this little process is still in full swing at our house (sigh). I've heard that if you want to get it done, you should just put them in "big boy underwear" and let them feel the sensation of pee running down their leg...then they'll be a bit more eager to visit the potty!! I'm not quite there yet...but soon...soon.

Anyway, here is a great find from boon ($34.99) find that triples as both a stool, storage AND potty ~ what more could you ask for??

Trick or Treat (Candy Alternative)

So all kids love candy on Halloween, of course, but not all parents (or dentists, for that matter!) do, and rightly so. With everyone becoming more health-conscious lately, we certainly should not overlook that of our littlest inhabitants here on earth. So here is a fantastic alternative to giving out sweets that will not only not rot the kids' teeth but will also last longer than the week past Halloween! I myself plan to give these out to the younger kids, say ages 5 and under...and I think parents will appreciate my gesture, and won't have to feel bad about throwing out their child's hard-earned loot (a.k.a, candy), as I know some parents end up doing.

Gourmet Play makes these adorable little Halloween swirly fun crayons that are the perfect size for handing out to the little trick-or-treaters who will be ever-so-sweetly ringing your doorbell nonstop in the coming weeks! They have everything from jack-o-lanterns and fall leaves to witches, ghosts, pumpkins and haunted houses! At just $5.25 for 6, this is a great deal, especially since they come pre-packaged individually in a clear cellophane bag with a label! Other great suggestions are using them for any upcoming Halloween parties you have, or for favors for your pre-schooler's class!

last minute deal for blog followers ONLY: 20% off your order of any Halloween/Fall themed crayons, when at least 35 crayons are ordered by October 24th!! (Remember, you MUST be a blog follower to get this deal!). Refunds to be sent via PayPal once the order has been received.

halloween assortment - choose any 6 for $5.25

autumn leaves - 3 for $3.25

jack-o-lanterns - 3 for $3.50

Inspiration for Children's Rooms

Ahhh...well, I certainly DO apologize for being MIA the last month... I'm FINALLY starting to feel more myself again after experiencing some serious "morning sickness" with this pregnancy. Yikes! Let's not do that again!!

Anyway, I wanted to bring you some fun, fabulous rooms for children...I'm sure we all wish we had the space for a separate library or study for the kids, but even this isn't the case for you (as it's not for me either), the following rooms are full of creativity and should perhaps inspire you a bit to revamp your child's room if just a little...

Enjoy the eye candy...
